Diploma in Industrial Automation Technology (DIAT) Level 4 supports a discipline that comprises knowledge, skills and attitude from various engineering fields, which include Systems Design, Systems Integration, Systems Installation and Commissioning, Systems Maintenance Coordination and Project Coordination. It also provides workplace exposure and experience to students through On-Job-Training (OJT)

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • produced to meet the design specification requirements, within standard tolerances, neat, concise and precise in accordance with Product Specifications.
  • to ensure the systems function as specified by process flow, within timeline efficiently as an integrated system in accordance with Product Specification.
  • to ensure an effective, safe and orderly handover of the automation system to the end-user, guaranteeing its operability in terms of performance, reliability, safety and information traceability.
  • to ensure maintenance resources and activities are identified and scheduled in accordance with the requirement from the machine maintenance manuals and to ensure maintenance execution is assessed and adjusted to accommodate arising problems in accordance with organizational key performance indicators.
  • to ensure that the project resources and activities are executed in accordance with the project’s budget, time frame and technical requirements.

Entry Requirements

  • Must have at least JPK SKM level 3 qualifications in industrial automation (JPK program code MC-091-3:2016)

Further Advancement

Graduates with JPK DKM level 4 (MC-091-4:2016) qualifications are eligible to further their studies in the diploma lanjutan kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) level 5 program or pursue their first degree at any MTUN university ( with at least 1 credit in any subject in SPM and minimum band 1 in MUET) or Malaysia meister program in mechatronics. Graduates are also able to start their careers as an assistant industrial automation engineering technologist.
